Trenching is not a sideline It's the license

One man, one mini excavator, thirty years of Sierra foothill rock. Tight access, wooded lots, steep ground. CSLB #726702 — Trenching Only — since 1996.

About

The man on the phone is the man in the seat.

Charlie Hale is a trenching specialist — not a general contractor, not an excavation company. He holds California CSLB License #726702, classified C-61/D-56, Trenching Only. He's been licensed since August 1996. That's thirty years of digging in Sierra foothill ground.

The ground here is the Sierra foothills gold belt: red clay over tilted slate and schist, decomposed granite, and serpentine. In the dominant local soil series — Josephine and Mariposa — bedrock can start 15 to 31 inches down. California has an estimated 47,000 abandoned mines, concentrated in Gold Rush counties like Nevada County. The Empire Mine in Grass Valley alone ran 367 miles of tunnels. Old mine dirt and unknown fill are real things here — knowing what you're digging into matters.

A mini excavator with the right teeth, run by someone who has felt this ground for 30 years, is the difference between a clean trench and a torn-up yard. Charlie is that someone.

Services

Trenching services — all nine of them.

One license, one machine, nine ways to use it. Every service below is trenching — because that's all the license allows. Charlie works with your electrician, plumber, propane company, landscaper, or general contractor. He digs the trench; they install the line.
